Tree Plantation Drive
As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, Buddha PG College conducts a large-scale Tree Plantation Drive every year during the monsoon season. The drive is held both on the college campus and in the surrounding villages of the district.
Students, teachers, and local community members come together to plant saplings of native tree species such as Neem, Peepal, Bargad, and Ashoka. The college has planted more than 2,000 trees over the past five years through this initiative.
Impact
- Significant increase in green cover on and around the campus.
- Awareness among local communities about the importance of afforestation.
- Reduction in local temperature and improvement in air quality.
- Student volunteers trained in environmental stewardship.
The college maintains a register of all planted trees and assigns student volunteers as Tree Guardians responsible for their upkeep throughout the year.
